Uintalands Culinary Water Improvements

Uintalands Association is a cabin community located in the Uinta Mountains. The high elevations and a transient population provide unique challenges to its water system; offering a culinary water system to the association is a unique benefit to its residents.

Franson Civil Engineers prepared a Culinary Water Master Plan to evaluate the existing water system and provide recommendations for the community’s future needs. Work involved a comprehensive inventory of the existing facilities, hydraulic model development, and alternatives development with cost estimates for future buildout. We provided standard plans and specifications for use by Uintalands to help maintain a quality, consistent water system.

Funding was obtained from the Utah Division of Drinking Water (DDW) for the master plan and for the construction of a new 230,000-gallon concrete water tank, replacement of approximately 4,000 feet of pipeline, installation of meters for leak detection, and pressure-reducing valves. These projects were designed with drawings and specifications approved by DDW. Franson Civil Engineers provided construction management services for these projects.
